Greek Gods and Goddesses

Greek people worship many gods (polytheism), which is one big family gods and goddesses. To the Greeks, their gods and goddesses are more powerful than humans but not omnipotent, even though their eternal existence. Greek gods and goddesses have the same nature as human beings with all the goodness and ugliness.
 
Greek Greek gods and goddesses very important are as follows:

  • Zeus was the supreme god, father and leader of a big family gods and goddesses but also the father and protector of mankind. Zeus lived on Mount Olympus peak and is worshiped as the ruler of heaven and earth.

  • Hera was the wife of Zeus who actually own Brother Zeus, Hera was known as the goddess of marriage is blessed and happy marriage with the only begotten children, and therefore he is known also as the patron goddess of birth.

  • Phoibos Apollon (Apollo) was the god of magic and prophecy, but also known as the god of sun, light and Sina, the god of arts, culture and science of medicine. Apollo Gods was the patron of Mousa god goddess, amounting to nine and each one becomes the guardian of every branch of art and science.

  • Pallas Athena was the goddess of peace and negotiations after the war, the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, intelligence and the goddess of victory. Pallas Athena was the patron of Athens.

  • Ares (Mars) is the god of war who is not liked by the other gods and goddesses in Olympus, especially by his sister Pallas Athena was the goddess of peace.
  • Artemis was the goddess of the moon, protector of women and the goddess of hunting.

  • Hermes is the patron god of merchants, shepherds and thieves.

  • Aphrodite was the goddess of beauty and good looks.

  • Eros was the god of romance and love

  • Hades was the god of the gates of hell.

  • Poseidon was the god of the highest ruler in the ocean.
